Ford Issues Recall for Nearly 388,000 Vehicles Over Unstable Rear Seats

Ford has announced a recall affecting roughly 388,000 vehicles after discovering a safety issue with the second-row seating. According to the automaker, the seats can shift without warning, increasing the risk of injury during a collision. The defect stems from a manufacturing flaw that prevents the seats from locking properly into place.

The recall covers specific models from the 2021 through 2023 model years, including popular SUVs and trucks. Owners will be notified by mail starting next month, and Ford dealerships will inspect and repair the seat mechanisms free of charge. The company says it is not aware of any crashes or injuries tied to the problem so far, but it is acting out of an abundance of caution.

For Boca Auto Care customers, this recall is a reminder to stay current on manufacturer notifications. If you own one of the affected vehicles, bring it to our shop and we can verify whether your VIN is included. We’ll handle the repair paperwork and get your seats secured properly, no appointment necessary for recall work.
