Ford Issues Recall for Nearly 388,000 Vehicles Over Seat Defect

Ford Issues Recall for Nearly 388,000 Vehicles Over Seat Defect

S. due to a problem with the front seat frames. According to documents filed with federal safety regulators, the issue involves a weld that can crack over time, potentially causing the seat to shift unexpectedly or fail to lock in place. That increases the risk of injury in a crash.

The recall covers certain 2023 and 2024 model year Ford Broncos, as well as select 2022 through 2024 Maverick pickups and 2023 through 2024 Lincoln Aviators. Ford says it has received a small number of warranty reports and one field report related to the defect, but no injuries or crashes have been linked to the problem so far.

Owners will be notified starting late next month, and dealers will inspect and, if needed, replace the affected seat frame assembly at no cost. Ford is also advising drivers to check for any unusual seat movement or noise and to contact their dealer if they notice anything off. This marks the latest in a series of recalls for the automaker this year, which has already recalled hundreds of thousands of vehicles for issues ranging from brake problems to rearview camera failures.
