Ford Focus Recall Affects 2012-2018 Models

Ford has announced a recall of over 250,000 Focus models from the 2012-2018 model years. The recall addresses a malfunctioning canister purge valve that can cause the engine to stall without warning while driving. This issue was not fully resolved under a previous recall (NHTSA 18V735).

Ford will update the powertrain software at no cost to owners. The recall does not affect other European and Japanese car models, including Mercedes-Benz, BMW, Audi, Porsche, VW, Volvo, Jaguar, Lexus, Toyota, and Honda. However, it serves as a reminder for car owners to stay current on any open recalls for their vehicles.

Ford Focus owners can check their VIN on the NHTSA website after July 6 to see if their vehicle is affected. The recall aims to prevent engine stalling and ensure driver safety.
