Ford Dealers Reportedly Shown Early Look at $25K Entry-Level SUV for 2029

Ford Dealers Reportedly Shown Early Look at $25K Entry-Level SUV for 2029

Ford's future lineup may include a new entry-level SUV priced around $25,000, according to a report from Automotive News. At a recent dealer event in Las Vegas, Ford executives reportedly showed early video mockups of a boxy, wide vehicle that attendees said resembled the first-generation Ford Escape.

The vehicle, which is still in very early design stages, is expected to offer both hybrid and nonhybrid powertrains. It would slot below the Maverick, currently Ford's most affordable model at just under $30,000. Unlike the upcoming $30,000 Fathom truck, this SUV will reportedly not use Ford's Universal EV platform.

Most details, including the vehicle's name, remain unknown. Dealers told Automotive News that the sketches only gave a general sense of size and proportions. The report also mentions that an unnamed hybrid crossover is scheduled to begin assembly in 2029 at Ford's Hermosillo Assembly Plant in Mexico, though no official production date was announced.

If the SUV ends up with subcompact dimensions like the Chevrolet Trax or Kia Seltos, its $25,000 starting price would land roughly in the middle of that segment.
