Ford and Lincoln Recall Over 387,000 Vehicles for Unintended Seat Movement

Ford and Lincoln Recall Over 387,000 Vehicles for Unintended Seat Movement

Ford Motor Company has announced a sweeping recall affecting more than 387,000 vehicles across its Ford and Lincoln brands. The issue involves front seat frames that may slide unexpectedly due to a manufacturing defect in the seat track adjuster mechanism. This movement can occur without warning, increasing the risk of losing control while driving.

The recall covers specific models from the 2021 through 2024 model years, including the Ford Bronco Sport, Ford Escape, and Lincoln Corsair. According to documents filed with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the problem stems from a missing or improperly installed part in the seat track assembly.

When the seat moves suddenly, it can distract the driver or cause them to misapply the pedals, creating a hazard. Ford says it has received several reports of the defect but is not aware of any crashes or injuries tied to the issue.

Owners will be notified starting in late October, and dealerships will inspect and replace the affected seat track adjusters at no cost. Ford also advises drivers to check that their seats are firmly locked in place before driving. If you own one of the affected vehicles, you can verify your VIN on Ford’s recall website or contact your local dealer.

Boca Auto Care recommends bringing your vehicle in for a complimentary inspection if you have any concerns about seat stability. We’ll help ensure your ride stays safe and secure.
