Ferrari Files LC67 Trademark: Nod to a Legend or Just Paperwork?

Ferrari Files LC67 Trademark: Nod to a Legend or Just Paperwork?

Ferrari quietly added the name LC67 to the global trademark registry on August 13, 2026, covering road and racing cars, parts, apparel, and downloadable digital items. The company hasn't explained the filing, leaving enthusiasts to speculate.

The name doesn't match any current Ferrari model, nor does it follow the SP (Special Projects) naming pattern. S. importer, whose NART team had a notable third-place finish at the 1967 Daytona 24 Hours and launched the ultra-rare 275 GTB/4S NART Spider that same year, only 10 were built.

However, Ferrari has a history of filing trademarks that never become real products. The broad scope of the LC67 application mirrors previous filings like HC25, which eventually appeared on a one-off project. With Ferrari already confirming two more debuts for late 2026, plus the new electric Luce model, the LC67 filing could simply be future-proofing or a way to keep competitors from using the name.

Until LC67 shows up in supplier contracts, homologation papers, or an official product brief, it's best treated as a breadcrumb, not a confirmed new model. The historical weight of the name keeps it worth watching, but no official announcement has been made.
