F1 Reports Record Fan Engagement as All 11 First-Half Races Sell Out

Formula 1 has released its mid-season statistics for 2026, showing strong growth in attendance, TV viewership, and social media engagement. All 11 races in the first half of the season were sold out, with total attendance reaching 3.7 million, up from 3.4 million in 2025.
Silverstone led the way with 564,000 attendees, followed by Australia with 484,000, Belgium with 400,000, Canada with 360,000, Austria with 320,000, and Hungary with 310,000. The Japanese Grand Prix saw an 18% attendance increase from 2025, followed by the British GP (13%) and Austrian GP (7%).
TV viewership also climbed, particularly in Brazil, Italy, and China. The 2026 British GP drew a record 18 million viewers across Globo and Sport TV3. , total hours watched rose 13% year-on-year, and the Netflix partnership continued to perform well with another season of Drive to Survive.
F1's social media presence remains strong, with over 126 million followers (up 17%), a 12% increase in impressions, and a 48% jump in video views on TikTok. The Lego Race during the British GP's drivers' parade generated over 70 million views. F1 now reports 830 million fans, with 42% female and 43% under age 35.
Fan satisfaction surveys from 60,000 attendees showed mixed results across races. Japan saw the biggest improvement, up 30% to 48% 'Good or Excellent' ratings, while Belgium rose 24% to 61% and Monaco increased 21% to 47%. However, Australia fell from 86% to 61% due to a less dramatic race than last year's wet event, and Great Britain dropped 20% to 69%, partly due to a safety car ending.
Austria was down 4%, while Miami, Barcelona, and Hungary remained flat compared to 2025.
