Evenflo Recalls Over 59,000 Car Seats - Headrest Could Come Loose in a Crash

Evenflo Recalls Over 59,000 Car Seats - Headrest Could Come Loose in a Crash

Evenflo has issued a recall for more than 59,000 child car seats after discovering the headrest can detach during a collision. The affected models include certain Evenflo Gold SensorSafe and SureRide 65 seats, and the problem lies in the locking mechanism that holds the headrest in place.

No injuries have been reported so far, but the company says the defect raises the risk of head or neck injuries in a crash.

Parents should stop using the recalled seats immediately and check their model number against the list on Evenflo’s website. The company is offering a free repair kit that addresses the locking issue. Owners can also call Evenflo’s customer service line to request the kit. Until the repair is installed, the seat should not be used in a vehicle.

At Boca Auto Care, we know how important your child’s safety is on the road. We can help you verify whether your car seat is affected and inspect its installation to make sure it’s secure. If you need a replacement or just want peace of mind, bring your seat by our shop. Stay safe out there, and remember, a properly installed car seat is your baby’s best protection.
