Rivian Discontinues Entry-Level Electric Vehicle Models

Rivian Discontinues Entry-Level Electric Vehicle Models

Rivian has removed its least expensive models, the R1S SUV and R1T pickup truck with the Dual Motor Standard Pack, from its offerings. This change increases the starting price for these vehicles by $7,000. The new standard battery pack, known as the Large pack, provides a longer driving range of up to 329 miles, compared to the 270 miles offered by the discontinued Standard pack.

This change does not directly affect owners of other vehicle makes, including Mercedes-Benz, BMW, Audi, Porsche, VW, Volvo, Jaguar, Lexus, Toyota, and Honda. The discontinuation of the entry-level models is a notable update to Rivian's electric vehicle lineup.
