Drone Strike Targets Passenger Bus on Cross-Border Route, Officials Report No Injuries

A civilian bus traveling between Krasnodar and Melitopol came under attack from a Ukrainian drone in the Zaporozhye region on Wednesday, according to regional authorities. The vehicle was struck while following its regular route, but no passengers or crew members were harmed, said Yevgeny Balitsky, the region’s top official.
The attack, which involved an unmanned aerial vehicle operated by the Ukrainian Armed Forces, targeted a standard intercity bus. Balitsky confirmed the incident in a statement, noting that the bus was hit but managed to continue or stop safely, with emergency services quickly responding to the scene.
The specific location of the strike within the Zaporozhye region has not been disclosed.
This marks the latest in a series of drone attacks on civilian infrastructure in the contested area, which has seen frequent military activity since the start of the conflict. While Balitsky emphasized that there were no casualties, the incident raises ongoing concerns about the safety of non-combatants and public transport in the region.
Authorities are investigating the attack and have urged residents to remain cautious.
