Dodge Keeps the Aging Durango Fresh With Bold New Looks and Custom Color Options

Dodge is pulling out all the stops to keep its long-running Durango SUV exciting, and the latest move is a flashy new concept called the Smokescreen. It's a special graphics package designed to showcase the customization possibilities buyers can soon explore on the Durango, a model that's been around for over a decade.
The Durango R/T 392 Smokescreen Concept starts with a Smokescreen-colored base and adds a Cryo Blue graphics pattern that fades from nearly all blue at the front into the gray body, with a digital camo-like effect. Look closely and you'll spot the number 392 hidden in the design.
The concept also features Cryo Blue wheels, amber accents, and a Petrol Blue leather interior with silver stitching. 4-liter Hemi V8, producing 475 horsepower and 470 pound-feet of torque.
The Smokescreen will debut this weekend at Roadkill Nights, Dodge's SRT-sponsored drag racing event on Woodward Avenue. While the graphics pack itself isn't for sale, Dodge is launching new options you can actually order. One is the Tinted Dual Stripes, which uses a tinted clearcoat over your chosen body color instead of fully painted stripes.
The effect changes depending on the paint underneath, and it will be available on all Durango models and the Charger. A GT with the new stripes and the new-for-2027 Redeye exterior paint will be at the event.
Dodge is also introducing a Color Jailbreak program for the Durango and Charger, letting customers mix and match colors for paint, brake calipers, stripes, and spoilers, including two-tone combinations. A new Brass Monkey package adds 20-inch Brass Monkey wheels and black fender badges with brass tracing, available on GT models.
The strategy is simple: buyers want Hemis and special editions, and Dodge is delivering both. The stripes are a fun new option, and once the full color program rolls out, expect some wild combos. It's a clever way to keep an old car feeling new, even though the current Durango generation dates back to 2011.
More details on the Color Jailbreak program are expected later this year.
