Daimler Truck Recalls Over 131,000 Vehicles Over Brake Concerns

Daimler Truck has announced a recall covering more than 131,000 trucks worldwide, following reports of a potential brake system defect. The issue, which affects certain heavy-duty models produced between 2020 and 2024, involves a faulty sensor that could cause the anti-lock braking system to malfunction.
No accidents or injuries have been linked to the problem so far, but the company is moving quickly to address it.
The recall specifically includes several Freightliner and Western Star models, along with a limited number of Thomas Built buses. Daimler Truck says the sensor error may prevent the brake system from engaging properly in low-traction conditions, increasing the risk of a crash. Dealers will inspect and replace the affected sensors at no cost to owners.
The company has already begun notifying customers by mail.
Owners who think their vehicle might be included should check their vehicle identification number on the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s website or contact their local Daimler Truck dealer. Boca Auto Care recommends scheduling service as soon as you receive a notice.
