Classic 1960s Mercedes W111 Coupe Gets a Modern AMG C63 S Heart

Classic 1960s Mercedes W111 Coupe Gets a Modern AMG C63 S Heart

Kugel Werks, an independent tuner and coachbuilder based in Los Angeles, has unveiled a new restomod called the One Eleven. The car combines the classic styling of a 1960s Mercedes-Benz W111 Coupe with the modern underpinnings of an AMG C63 S Coupe. Deliveries are scheduled to begin in 2026.

The exterior keeps the original's timeless proportions, including the boxy grille, upright nose, long hood, and stretched rear overhang. Changes include wider fender extensions, 20-inch alloy wheels with an AMG-inspired design, custom body-colored bumpers, dual tailpipes, and deeper side skirts.

Chrome trim has been replaced with glossy black, and the lighting units feature modern LED graphics.

Under the skin, the One Eleven uses the platform of the previous-generation Mercedes-AMG C63 S Coupe (W205, built from 2016 through 2022). The powertrain, suspension, brakes, and electronic driver aids come over intact. 0-liter V8 produces 510 hp and 516 lb-ft of torque, sent to the rear wheels through a seven-speed AMG Speedshift gearbox.

Kugel hasn't released photos of the cabin yet. Based on its earlier restomod, a custom Mercedes-Benz 600 Grosser W100 sedan built on an AMG E 63 S, the interior will likely feature the donor car's digital cockpit, dashboard, and bucket seats. Buyers will have extensive customization options, including leather, Alcantara, wood, and carbon fiber in any combination.

Production will be limited, with deliveries expected to start by September 2026. Pricing starts at $480,000, which is below the earlier W100 project, reportedly priced at $850,000.
