Chevy's EV Lineup: Four Models Remain, but the Bolt's Days Are Numbered

Chevy's EV Lineup: Four Models Remain, but the Bolt's Days Are Numbered

Chevrolet currently sells four electric vehicles, but the brand's EV push is under pressure. The most affordable, the Bolt, is back for 2027, but only briefly. Production is expected to run until mid-2027, then stop to make room for gas-powered models. General Motors cites tariffs and the end of the federal EV tax credit as reasons.

The Bolt starts at $27,600 and offers 262 miles of range. It supports DC fast charging and Tesla Superchargers, and comes with Super Cruise availability. But its time is short.

Next up is the Equinox EV, a crossover from $34,995. It gets up to 319 miles of range, and features a 17.7-inch screen. However, it lacks Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and entry-level trims have basic seats.

The Blazer EV is the only Chevy EV with an SS variant. Prices range from $44,700 to over $60,000 for the SS, which has 615 hp and hits 60 mph in 3.4 seconds. Range goes up to 312 miles. But it also skips CarPlay and Android Auto.

Finally, the Silverado EV is the sole electric truck. It offers up to 478 miles of range, a handy Midgate, and towing up to 12,500 lbs. But it's pricey, over $55,000. Some 2024 used examples have dropped to around $25,000.

The takeaway: Chevy's EV lineup is narrowing, and the Bolt's exit is already planned.
