Cadillac's V-One Concept Hints at a Track-Focused Hypercar Without Overlapping the Corvette

Cadillac has pulled the wraps off its new V-One concept at The Quail, and it's essentially a customer-ready version of the brand's V-Series.R race car. The model packs a hybridized V8 powertrain that produces 830 horsepower, which is actually more than the race car's 670-horsepower limit.
The concept was developed jointly by Cadillac Design, Cadillac Racing, and Dallara, giving it genuine racecar DNA. It shares its foundations with the car that competes in the FIA World Endurance Championship and the IMSA WeatherTech Championship. 35 kWh battery pack, a seven-speed sequential transmission, and an electric motor.
Many components are shared with the race car, including the double wishbone suspension and pushrod-actuated coil and torsion spring elements with lateral and heave dampers. However, Cadillac notes the V-One is designed to be easier to operate than the race car, while still delivering similar performance levels.
On the outside, the body carries over from the racer, featuring a custom paint job that transitions from silver to deep navy. Unique wheels are wrapped in Michelin Pilot Sport tires, and a high-performance Brembo braking system handles stopping duties. The car also sports dark-persona V-Series badging and plenty of carbon fiber.
Inside, the cabin is more welcoming and luxurious than a typical race car, with a single seat made from recycled fabrics that can be customized to fit the driver. An exposed carbon fiber shelf sits to the driver's right, perfect for holding a helmet. The yoke-style steering wheel includes an integrated display with an intuitive, race-inspired interface that provides feedback and coaching as drivers explore the car's full capability.
While the V-One is clearly a concept, it signals Cadillac's ambition for its V-Series brand and shows the company exploring the possibility of a track-focused hypercar without stepping on the Corvette's toes.
