Cadillac Vistiq SUVs Recalled Over Third-Row Seat Safety Flaw

Cadillac Vistiq SUVs Recalled Over Third-Row Seat Safety Flaw

General Motors is recalling certain Cadillac Vistiq SUVs after discovering a defect in the third-row seating mechanism that could pose a safety risk. The automaker says the seats may not properly latch into place, increasing the chance of injury in a crash. The recall affects a specific batch of 2026 model year vehicles.

According to GM, the issue stems from a manufacturing error in the seat’s locking assembly. If the seat isn’t fully secured, it could move unexpectedly during hard braking or a collision. Dealers will inspect and replace the faulty components at no cost to owners. GM has not yet reported any accidents or injuries tied to the defect.

Owners of affected Vistiq SUVs will be notified by mail starting next month. They can also check their vehicle’s status on the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s website using the VIN. As a precaution, GM advises drivers to verify that the third-row seat is firmly locked before carrying passengers.

The recall underscores the importance of rigorous quality checks on SUV seating systems, especially in models with three rows.
