Cadillac Halts Power Seats on All Vistiq Models Over Safety Concern

Cadillac has issued a recall affecting every Vistiq SUV on the road, halting the use of power-operated third-row seats due to a safety hazard. The problem centers on seats that may move unexpectedly, posing a risk to passengers. Until a permanent fix is developed, the automaker is disabling the feature to prevent potential injuries.
The recall covers all Vistiq units sold to date, though Cadillac has not disclosed the exact number of vehicles involved. According to company documents, the issue was discovered during internal testing when a seat mechanism failed to lock properly. If the seat shifts while the vehicle is in motion, it could increase the risk of injury to rear-seat occupants.
For now, owners will need to manually adjust the third-row seats, as the power function will remain deactivated via a software update. Cadillac says it is working on a remedy and will notify dealers and customers once a fix is ready. In the meantime, the company advises anyone with a Vistiq to schedule a service appointment to have the seat controls disabled.
