Cadillac CT5-V Could Pack a Naturally Aspirated V8 and a Stick Shift

The rumor mill around Cadillac’s next sedan is churning hard, and a fresh leak suggests the luxury brand is cooking up something that sounds a lot like a four-door Camaro. According to a top Cadillac salesperson, the next CT5-V will feature a naturally aspirated V8 engine paired with a manual transmission, a combo that would make it a rare beast in today’s market.
cadillac, who claimed her sources confirmed the news. She also hinted that the XT6 crossover is set to return soon. “The CT5-V is going to have a naturally aspirated V8 engine available in a manual transmission and automatic,” she said, adding that pricing would likely fall between $70,000 and $80,000.
That range matches the current CT5-V, which uses a twin-turbo V6 and only comes with an automatic.
The Drive reached out to Cadillac for confirmation. A spokesperson replied, “We don’t comment on future product speculation, and we have nothing new to announce at this time. ” So while it’s not a yes, it’s definitely not a no. If this pans out, it would mark the first naturally aspirated V8 sedan with a manual from GM since the Chevrolet SS left the scene.
