Boca Mercedes Owner Left Out in the Cold After $200 Charger Adapter Fails to Deliver

Boca Mercedes Owner Left Out in the Cold After $200 Charger Adapter Fails to Deliver

A Boca Raton driver who leased a 2025 Mercedes-Benz GLC 350e last September thought he was getting a car that could plug into Tesla’s Supercharger network. The dealership assured him that with a $200 NACS adapter, he’d have access to thousands of fast-charging stations. He bought the adapter on the spot.

But after months of frustration and multiple calls to Mercedes support, he’s learned the feature simply doesn’t work on his vehicle.

“I was told explicitly that this was a supported option,” the owner said. ” Mercedes support confirmed the 2025 GLC 350e does not support Tesla Supercharger access, even with the adapter. The company’s response? The feature is a software issue, and it’s currently only available on the 2026 model.

The owner is left wondering whether Mercedes plans to enable it through a future update or via the Digital Extras subscription service.

For now, Boca drivers considering a plug-in hybrid Mercedes should double-check compatibility before buying the adapter. The 2025 model may be a great car, but if Supercharger access is a dealbreaker, the 2026 version is the only one that delivers. Until Mercedes clarifies its software roadmap, that $200 adapter is just an expensive paperweight.
