BMW Pulls 300,000+ Cars From Roads - Here’s Which Models Are Impacted

BMW Pulls 300,000+ Cars From Roads - Here’s Which Models Are Impacted

S. The automaker is calling back certain sedans, SUVs, and coupes over a braking system issue that could increase stopping distances or, in rare cases, cause a partial loss of braking power. The problem stems from a component that may wear prematurely, triggering a warning light and potentially reducing brake assist.

The recall covers a wide range of models from the 2019 through 2023 model years, including popular lines like the 3 Series, 5 Series, X3, X5, and the Z4 roadster. Also included are the 8 Series, 7 Series, and the high-performance M models. Owners can expect to receive official notifications starting in October, and dealers will inspect and replace the affected part at no charge.

BMW says it is not aware of any crashes or injuries tied to the defect so far.

If you drive a BMW from those years, it’s worth checking your vehicle identification number (VIN) on the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s website or your local BMW dealer’s recall portal. The repair work should take about an hour, and BMW is also offering loaner vehicles if needed.

For Boca Auto Care customers, we can help you look up your VIN and schedule a free safety check, no appointment necessary. Stay safe out there.
