BMW iX5 Steals the Show at Goodwood Festival of Speed

Just two weeks after its global debut, the all-electric BMW iX5 made a splash at the Goodwood Festival of Speed in the UK. While the event isn’t your typical auto show, it gave the first-ever X5 without a combustion engine a fitting stage to wow the crowds. Dressed in Pine Grey metallic paint with the M Sport Package and riding on optional 22-inch wheels, this pre-production prototype was anything but standard.
The iX5 60 xDrive will go on sale in Europe starting in early October, but buyers will need patience, deliveries aren’t expected until early 2027. BMW brought a right-hand-drive version to Goodwood, featuring a Smoke White Individual leather interior with a matching steering wheel.
The cabin also included the Individual Clear & Bold upgrade, which adds genuine slate trim to the center console, currently mandatory on early builds, though buyers can skip it starting in December.
6-inch passenger screen, but unlike the updated 7 Series, it’s not required. More variants are on the horizon, including an M Performance model and possibly a full M version, along with more affordable options like an iX5 50 xDrive. For now, the 60 xDrive leads the charge for BMW’s electric SUV lineup.
