BMW Issues Fresh Recall for 10,000 Vehicles Over Fire Concerns

BMW has announced another recall, this time affecting roughly 10,000 vehicles due to a potential fire hazard. The German automaker disclosed the issue in a regulatory filing, citing a problem with the engine's positive crankcase ventilation system that could lead to oil leaks and, in rare cases, engine fires.
This marks the latest in a series of recalls for BMW related to fire risks over the past year.
The recall covers select models from the 2022-2023 model years, including certain 3 Series, 5 Series, X3, and X5 vehicles equipped with six-cylinder engines. BMW says the issue stems from a faulty heater component within the ventilation system, which may short-circuit and cause the plastic housing to melt.
Owners will be notified starting next month, and dealers will replace the part free of charge.
For Boca Auto Care customers, this serves as a reminder to stay on top of recall notices and bring their vehicles in for prompt service. While no injuries have been reported, BMW advises affected drivers to park outdoors and away from structures until repairs are completed.
