BMW and Kith Tease One-Off 2027 X5 Ahead of Monterey Debut

BMW and Kith have offered the clearest look yet at their upcoming one-off 2027 X5, with a short teaser clip posted to Instagram. The video shows the Neue Klasse X5, wearing Frozen Titanium Silver paint and special "X5 KITH" badging, driving along a wooded road. The silver finish is a matte take on the color seen on Ronnie Fieg's own V10-swapped E53 X5, a project that uses an engine from the E60 M5 and E63 M6 paired with a six-speed manual while keeping the factory all-wheel drive.
The teaser's caption reveals a key shift from past collaborations: the 2027 X5 by Kith is described as a one-of-one show car and is not available for purchase. This marks a departure from earlier Kith BMW projects, including the BMW XM by Kith, which was also initially called a one-of-one design study but later confirmed to have a 47-unit customer run.
The new X5 appears to be purely for publicity and Kith's own purposes, with no customer version planned.
This is the fifth chapter in the Kith and BMW collaboration series. Previous entries include the Cinnabar Red M4 Competition x Kith from 2020, which had a 150-unit run with extensive branding, the i4 M50 x Kith, and the BMW XM. 0 CSi and M6 with caramel interiors, to promote the Kith for BMW 2026 collection.
A full reveal of the X5 is confirmed for Monterey Car Week, so more details, especially on the interior, are expected in the coming days.
