Fuel-Saving Tablets Lack Scientific Evidence

Fuel-Saving Tablets Lack Scientific Evidence

Additive tablets claiming to reduce fuel consumption by up to 5 liters per 100 kilometers have been found to lack scientific evidence supporting their effectiveness. Experts warn that using these tablets can potentially damage engines, particularly in modern vehicles from manufacturers like Mercedes-Benz, BMW, Audi, Porsche, VW, Volvo, Jaguar, Lexus, Toyota, and Honda.

Instead, simple driving techniques such as maintaining a consistent speed and avoiding sudden acceleration can improve fuel efficiency. Regular vehicle maintenance is also recommended to ensure optimal performance. The Federal Trade Commission and other consumer protection agencies have issued warnings about similar products in the past, advising consumers to be cautious of unsubstantiated claims.

Vehicle owners are advised to consult their owner's manual and follow recommended maintenance schedules to achieve better fuel efficiency.
