Bentley Recalls 2026 Continental GT and GTC Over Driveshaft Issue - Here’s What Local Owners Should Know

S. The problem? A front driveshaft that’s slightly too short. According to Bentley’s notice to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), a supplier error during assembly led to the wrong part being installed. Over time, the shorter shaft can cause the retaining nut to loosen, leading to noise, vibration, and even steering wheel movement.
While no accidents or injuries have been reported, Bentley acknowledges this increases the risk of a crash.
For owners of the affected cars—built between February 6 and March 12, 2026—dealers will inspect and, if needed, replace the driveshaft at no charge. The check takes about 30 minutes; replacement runs up to three hours.
Now, what does this mean for you if you drive a Mercedes, BMW, Audi, Porsche, VW, Volvo, Jaguar, Lexus, Toyota, or Honda? Probably nothing directly—this is a Bentley-specific issue affecting only a handful of vehicles. But it’s a good reminder that even the most prestigious automakers can have supplier hiccups.
