Bentley Finally Goes Electric: The Torcal Breaks Cover This September

After years of anticipation, Bentley has officially teased its first-ever electric vehicle. The luxury British marque, now under the Volkswagen umbrella, released a shadowy image of the new model—dubbed the Torcal—and confirmed a full unveiling in London on September 23rd.
The Torcal joins a lineup that already includes the Bentayga, Bacalar, and Batur, continuing the brand’s tradition of naming cars after natural landmarks. Bentley first announced its plans for an electric SUV back in 2021, and this model has been spotted testing under heavy camouflage in extreme conditions.
Spy photographers caught it in the Arctic Circle earlier this year, revealing a fastback-inspired silhouette that echoes last year’s EXP 15 design concept. At Germany’s Nürburgring, the test vehicle wore a wild wrap to hide its lines, but eagle-eyed observers still glimpsed a cabin trimmed in red leather and black Alcantara, with a sweeping curved display and physical tactile controls.
“In the coming weeks, more updates on the Bentley Torcal will be revealed in the build up to the 23 September,” the company stated. ” With the luxury EV market heating up, Bentley’s entry signals a serious shift—one that marries its heritage of hand-built opulence with the quiet power of electric drive.
