Beat the Heat with Indoor Pickleball in Palm Beach County

As the summer heat intensifies, the Palm Beach County Parks and Recreation Department is offering a refreshing solution for pickleball enthusiasts. For a small fee of $5, players can enjoy games in the air-conditioned gymnasiums of three recreation centers: West Boynton, Westgate, and West Jupiter.

Each facility features three courts, and a 'next-up paddle system' ensures a fair rotation of players. The indoor courts provide a comfortable and rain-free environment, perfect for those who want to stay active without braving the scorching temperatures. Players under 18 must be accompanied by a legal guardian.

The program runs through August, with varying schedules at each location. If you prefer outdoor play, the department also offers dedicated pickleball courts at several parks, including Burt Aaronson South County Regional Park and Okeeheelee Park. Playing pickleball regularly can have numerous benefits, including boosting mental health, fostering social connections, and enhancing cognitive function.
