Audi’s Quickest Non-RS Model Hits 60 in 3.3 Seconds Without the Hardcore Edge

Audi’s Quickest Non-RS Model Hits 60 in 3.3 Seconds Without the Hardcore Edge

Audi’s RS lineup is legendary for performance, but those cars can feel like overkill on the daily commute. That doesn’t mean you have to settle for something boring if you skip the RS badge. For drivers who want serious speed without the track-focused stiffness, the most powerful non-RS Audi on the market delivers a compelling blend of muscle and manners.

That car is the 2026 Audi S e-tron GT, a sleek electric sedan built on the same platform as the Porsche Taycan. Twin electric motors, one on each axle, provide standard all-wheel drive and excellent weight balance. In normal mode, the system produces 583 horsepower. 3 seconds. A two-speed automatic transmission is a rarity among EVs: first gear handles those brutal launches, while second gear optimizes efficiency, giving the car a range of up to 300 miles on a full charge.

Despite its supercar-level acceleration, the S e-tron GT is built for real-world comfort. Standard all-wheel steering helps the rear wheels tuck into corners for sharper handling, while air suspension keeps the body flat under hard cornering. An e-torque vectoring system distributes power to each wheel to maximize grip and reduce understeer.

Inside, the cabin is anything but spartan: 20-inch wheels, red brake calipers, a Dinamica-wrapped steering wheel, and matte carbon inlays set the tone. Options include 18-way Nappa leather seats with massage functions, a Bang & Olufsen 3D sound system, and a panoramic roof.

All this luxury and performance comes at a price. The Premium Plus model starts at $127,700, and stepping up to the Prestige Quattro adds a heads-up display and HD Matrix LEDs for about $10,000 more. Depreciation is a real concern, CarEdge estimates a 49% loss over five years, dropping the value to roughly $64,000.

Running costs are manageable: the EV powertrain has fewer moving parts, and Audi covers the battery with an eight-year, 100,000-mile warranty. But the car’s 5,000-pound curb weight means tires, brakes, and suspension will wear faster than on a lighter gas car. 4-second 0-60 sprint for $170,500.

The S e-tron GT, however, proves you don’t need an RS badge to have a thrilling, livable daily driver.
