Amazon Driver's Package Toss Leaves Scratches on New Ford F-150; Owner Seeks Apology
An Amazon delivery driver's careless throw left marks on a customer's brand-new Ford F-150, sparking frustration over accountability rather than the damage itself. Jeremy Spangler's blue F-150, just two weeks old, now bears two white scratches after the driver tossed a returned package, containing a bug shield, toward a colleague on the other side of the truck.
The package missed and landed on the vehicle.
Spangler, who wasn't home at the time, filed a police report after spotting the marks. He told Fox 43 News: "Luckily, it's not much damage. " He also questioned the driver's judgment, noting the package could have held something breakable like glass. The driver left without a word, prompting Spangler to contact Amazon, where he was bounced between different numbers.
Amazon's generic response said the incident "does not reflect the high standards we have for our delivery service providers and their drivers," adding that they were investigating. " Days after the story gained attention, Spangler received word that an Amazon company would cover repair costs, but no apology ever came.
