Airstream Shrinks Down: New 17-Foot Camper Packs a Kitchen, Bed, and Big Personality

Airstream just dropped a new travel trailer that proves you don’t need a massive rig to hit the road in style. Meet the World Traveler 17RB, a 17-foot compact camper aimed squarely at first-time buyers who want the iconic aluminum look without the intimidating price tag. It slides in under the 22-foot 22RB, which starts at $69,400, and offers a lightweight, easy-to-tow option for weekend warriors and new adventurers.
The exterior stays true to Airstream’s classic riveted aluminum body, with dual-pane acrylic windows, a manual awning, and retractable steps. A low-profile roof hides the air conditioner underneath, and an LP storage box keeps things tidy. 5 kWh lithium battery pack. Inside, the Scandinavian-inspired design features white aluminum walls and either Shoreline or Sagebrush upholstery.
Up front, a convertible dinette doubles as a second sleeping area, while the rear holds a 53-inch-wide bed for two.
1-cubic-foot fridge-freezer. A foldable counter extension and a removable bedside add-on give you extra prep space when needed. If cooking feels like a chore after a day outdoors, you can add an optional microwave or a dinette drawer refrigerator. The cabin also comes with a 24-inch Smart TV, a Truma Combi Eco Plus system for heat and hot water, plenty of storage, and what appears to be a JBL audio system.
, with global deliveries starting this fall.
