2027 Nissan Sentra Adds Midnight Edition, Retuned CVT, and a Slightly Higher Price

Nissan has rolled out the 2027 Sentra, following the recent debut of the Toyota Corolla. The updated sedan brings a new special edition, a revised transmission, and a modest price increase.

The headline addition is a Midnight Edition package for the Sentra SR, priced at $650. It follows the blackout trend with black badging, black window trim, and black 18-inch alloy wheels. A Super Black paint job is standard, while four two-tone options with a contrasting Super Black roof cost an extra $950.

Nissan also retuned the continuously variable transmission, promising smoother, more linear acceleration, a "crisper response," and a "more predictable driving experience." The company says the change came from customer feedback and is part of "meaningful, targeted changes that enhance the ownership experience."

A new Qi2 wireless smartphone charger is available, offering faster, more consistent charging and broader device compatibility.

The 2027 Sentra is on sale now with a starting price of $22,890, plus a $1,245 destination fee. That's $290 more than last year's model, but it undercuts the Corolla by $435 and has a cheaper delivery fee.

Standard features include LED lighting, 16-inch steel wheels, a four-speaker audio system, a 7-inch cluster display, and a 12.3-inch infotainment screen. Driver aids include Intelligent Cruise Control, Automatic Emergency Braking, Forward Collision Warning, and Rear Cross Traffic Alert.

Higher trims add TailorFit upholstery, heated front seats, a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, dual-zone automatic climate control, an eight-speaker Bose audio system, and ProPILOT Assist.

All Sentras use a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine producing 149 hp and 146 lb-ft of torque.
