2027 Kia EV3 Priced to Compete, With Options for Every Buyer

Kia has finally revealed pricing for its 2027 EV3 subcompact SUV, and the base model undercuts the Nissan Leaf by exactly $100. The entry-level Light trim with front-wheel drive starts at $29,890, or $31,575 with destination. 3-kWh battery delivers just 221 miles of range, less than the Leaf or Chevy Bolt.
4-kWh battery, boosting range to 321 miles, which beats every Bolt and Leaf version and edges out the Chevy Equinox by two miles. That trim starts at $34,990, or $36,485 with destination. All-wheel drive is available for an extra $3,700, adding a second rear motor for 261 hp and 284 lb-ft, though range drops to 280 miles.
For performance buyers, the GT version includes all-wheel drive as standard, producing 288 hp and 345 lb-ft. 3 seconds for base front-drive models. The GT is priced at $45,890, or $47,385 with destination, making it pricier than the Toyota C-HR and some Ford Mustang Mach-E trims that offer more power.
The EV3 is nearly identical in size to the Chevy Bolt, though slightly shorter and wider, with similar cargo space. Its battery can charge from 10 to 80 percent in about half an hour at a 350-kW DC fast charger. It can also power appliances with an adapter or serve as home backup with a compatible bi-directional charger.
3-inch screens, a 5-inch climate control display, reclining rear seats, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto. Kia says the EV3 is still on track to reach dealers by the end of the year.
The broader significance: affordable EVs are becoming a reality. With the EV3 joining the Chevy Bolt, Nissan Leaf, and upcoming Ford Fathom in the roughly $30,000 range, these models offer the comfort and convenience features typical buyers expect. That could help boost EV adoption beyond just entry-level buyers.
