2027 Hyundai Tucson Revealed With Bold New Look

Hyundai has offered a first look at its redesigned fourth-generation Tucson, expected to arrive in showrooms late this year or early next. The current model is already popular, but the new version takes a much bolder visual direction with a blocky, sculpted exterior that looks both rugged and futuristic, almost like a premium vehicle.

The design follows the boxy theme set by the recent Santa Fe and Palisade, but adds a more architectural feel through Hyundai's "Art of Steel" language. Pronounced horizontal lines, bluff fender flares, and slim light bars front and rear give the Tucson a planted, space-age stance.

Hyundai's design chief says the look strengthens outdoor-lifestyle appeal, and the styling makes rivals like the Toyota RAV4 and Honda CR-V seem plain by comparison.

Inside, the cabin matches the premium direction, with a large central touchscreen likely running Hyundai's new Pleos system, a slim digital instrument display, soft materials, ambient lighting, and light-colored upholstery. It feels more like a vehicle from a class above than a mainstream compact crossover.

Hyundai has not released any powertrain details, this was purely a visual reveal. The Tucson is Hyundai's best-selling model in the US, with 234,000 units sold last year, so major mechanical changes are unlikely. Expect the same front-wheel-drive platform with optional all-wheel drive, and the current gas, hybrid, and plug-in hybrid options may carry over with possible tweaks.

A rugged XRT version is planned, but Hyundai hasn't confirmed whether a sportier N Line or N model will return, one is rumored. The previous N Line was dropped for 2026. Hyundai's CEO has mentioned launching extended-range EVs next year, but it's unclear if the Tucson will be among them.

The redesign aims to stand out while keeping the formula that made the current model a top seller.
