2027 BMW X5 Redesign: Neue Klasse Styling, Five Powertrain Options

2027 BMW X5 Redesign: Neue Klasse Styling, Five Powertrain Options

BMW's latest X5 redesign brings the Neue Klasse design language to the SUV, though it still rides on the updated CLAR platform rather than the new architecture. The exterior features narrow kidney grilles, an X-shaped headlight layout, and aero winglets replacing traditional door handles.

9-inch central display dominate the cabin, with an optional passenger screen.

The base 40 xDrive starts at $72,100 with a 375-hp turbo six-cylinder, while a rear-wheel-drive version will follow at $69,800. Four more powertrains are planned for 2027 and 2028: a plug-in hybrid with 483 hp and about 44 miles of EV range, an all-electric iX5 with a 144 kWh battery and 435-mile estimated range, a V8 M Performance model expected to exceed 520 hp, and a hydrogen fuel-cell variant.

The PHEV starts at $77,500, and the iX5 at $79,800. Optional packages include M Sport, technology ($1,350), climate ($2,800), luxury ($3,100), and parking assistance ($750). Prices exclude destination fees and are subject to change.
